Proper timing of a listing is very important to profit from your e-bay bidding.

Sellers spend lot of time preparing their listings with correct key words and proper descriptions. Most of them do not understand that they need to consider about timing and traffic flow. EBay traffic is not continues as expected. It differs from time to time, day by day and also by season to season. If you list your items for auction, and if the auction closes before a peak visitor time, you are not going to profit as you expected.

 

Understand when to list.

 

Items listed for seven days on a Friday, will close on next Friday closing time. Your items listed on Monday for three days, will close on Thursday.

 

List your Auction to end during a peak time or in a more constructive time. You are likely to get more visitors if your listing time is lengthier. Most eBay visitors search several times a weak. They do not buy at one go, instead they bid at the last moment of the auction ending time. Most bids are placed during the last thirty minutes. Your listing will also appear under “closing soon” section so you are likely to get more bids.

 

Peak time daily, is between 8.00PM and 10.00PM.  Speaking of peak visitor time weakly is during Saturday and Sunday. Most buyers by during Sundays between the times mentioned above.

 

Listing your item on Saturday to end on Sunday between 8.00PM and 10.00PM will reduce your long listing fee.

 

Why 8.00PM and 10.00PM?

 

According to research, most visitors from Eastern Time frame, brows auction sites during 8.00PM and if considering Pacific Time, it will be during 10.00PM. So if you list geographically, this will help you to decide the ending of your auction time.

 

 

                                  

Plan ordering methods for your website

Everyone is not an experienced web surfer. Provide your customer with simple instructions on how to order products. Provide step by stem instructions on how to use a shopping cart.

Instructions on using a shopping cart

  1. Click Brows Catalogue to view the product categories
  2. Click on the category you want
  3. You will be taken to the Product List page
  4. Find the product(s) you want and change the quantity if ordering more than one
  5. If you want to order other products, then click “Add to Basket” button
  6. Click the “Browse Catalogue” link again
  7. When you have finished adding items to your shopping basket, click the “basket contents” to check your order and make any changes.
  8. When you are ready to process your order, click the “checkout” and type in your address information
  9. Click the “Submit Order” button.
  10. Next page will add the shipping charge to your order and will show your total charge.

You need to identify marketing trends. You have to change with the changing environment and be prepared to change accordingly.

Branding your product or service is very important. People trust branded product or service than a product or service without proper branding.

Improve your customer awareness of your business by the appearance of your website and its association with desirable traits such as great prices and neat content.

Offer free stuff like e-books, software and offer something free if the customer purchases an item for a certain value. You can also offer gift certificates, prizes and free samples. For items like software, free trial versions will be very effective. But keep in mind that software must not effect other applications in the customer’s computer. Your customer will not return to you if that happens.

Provide how to information, and easy to use help

Ask customer feedback and suggestions about how to improve your service.

Create products designed to customer specification.

Offer an e-newsletter.

Provide each customer with an individual shopping experience.

Maintain a good and friendly relationship with your customers.

There are certain criteria that will increase your popularity as a good seller. To get there it takes time and dedication. There are certain tips and tricks in the web to enhance your sales. A good quality picture can enhance your sales. Better the quality, better chance for a sale. Before uploading the image, take a look at it and ask yourself if I see this picture listed, will I be tempted to investigate? Describe the item in short sentences. Use bullet points. Do not make your bullet points into paragraphs. This will confuse the customer and draw attention away. Use bold and underlining only when necessary.

Be truthful and state the condition of the item clearly
Your customer will always trust you once satisfied. If you are selling an item that includes additional accessories, be sure to mention that. If you are selling software or related product, make sure you describe in what type of programmes it is compatible with. Always keep your tone positive and buyers will trust that their business with you will be positive.

Clearly state your terms and conditions
Always state your return policy. If your policy is no returns, put that in your return policy. Always win your customer by stating the truth. Do not hide anything. State the payment method. If your price includes the shipping cost, say no shipping cost. If you have not included the shipping cost, state that shipping cost will be added. And include a shipping cost calculator of some kind so that your customer will not get a shock when they see the final cost.

Include a currency calculator
A currency calculator is very helpful to calculate the actual amount a customer will be spending on his or her currency. Put yourself in the customer’s shoes and sure you will be really happy and confident to do a purchase.

Include shipping details
As described above; include the shipping cost, include the carrier that you are willing to use and describe whether you wish to insure the item or not.

Be flexible on payments
Always make sure that you provide multiple options of payments like PayPal, Cheque, Money order, Credit card and any other methods at your disposal so your customers will be at ease.

Careful packaging and shipping after payment
After making a sale, you have to maintain the customer’s faith. Developed customer faith will bring you sales many times and they will introduce others to your website also. Carefully pack the item and ship it as quickly as possible to reach the customer within the days promised. If your item is broken when it reaches your customer or you fail to deliver in time. This will be a disaster. Higher a good carrier and always take care in delivering the item.

Maintain a friendly relationship with your customer
When dealing with customers, you must always make sure that you send polite e-mails and your communication with the customer is maintained in a friendly manner. So if you are a new comer and cannot handle all the electronic web payment stuff, just market your website and if people are interested, they will contact you.

A good article in a website and correct key words can make wonders. You have to describe the specific item or service you are offering. You can do it in a very interesting manner. A reader must feel curious about what you are saying and keep reading on. And if it is really interesting, he might then try searching for your specific product or service and you might be able to do a sale. Many websites lack this ability. Almost all websites look the same to many customers. A different website will attract a customer during their search, and that will influence buying.

It should not always be a website. I have seen people doing business with blogs. If you describe your product in a very influential manner interesting to the readers. Multilevel Marketing is not for me

Some people get rich through this Multilevel Marketing, but an overwhelming majority is not. That is the truth in this fake.

Most of you already know what MLM is. It was MLM that propelled both Herbalife International and, more recently, Equinox International to the top. Usually MLM people know how to lure people into their trap by promising things that people crave for. All of us except those who are enlightened crave for things. The main thing we crave for is Money. Without money we cannot do anything. To earn Money you have to work hard, most people do not like to work hard if they are not passionate about their job. More than fifty percent of us are dissatisfied with our jobs. So it is easy to take advantage of your mental condition, “Earn money while you are sleeping” What a funny thing to say. Yet it makes you more inquisitive, what a wonderful thing, “earn money while sleeping” You keep on reading. Again it says “you can earn a six figure income without spending much money”. That is easy money. People get lured by this type of advertisements.

You then sign up for this program. While signing up you are asked to introduce your friends to this so you could earn a high commission on their sales too. Unlike most businesses, an MLM company pays you a commission not only on your sales but also on the sales of all the people you’ve brought into the network, either directly or indirectly. So if someone you recruit goes out and recruits a bunch of terrific salespeople–and they recruit more terrific salespeople–you stand to make a fortune. In fact, some people do. The more you recruit, the more your commissions will be if they succeed. Unfortunately this is not the fact.

These companies know that most people cannot make it. So why not take the chance and grab some money. They ask you to buy some products ranging $100 or more. “You will be provided with all the training material” that’s what they say in the advertisement. But you finally find out you have to buy the material, so this is the company’s second level of income, not bad they earn a lot because your recruits will do the same and imagine what the earnings of the top most five or six will be. They are surely earning money while they are a sleep.

You are lured more and more without you knowing through their e-mails, free offers, and lot of fancy suggestions that they already know will not work for you. But you still keep going. You spend on PPC campaigns, e-mail campaigns and websites. But how many of you are good at sales and how many of you succeed. The company and people on top know this and they make sure that they earn from you before you drop out.

The successful ones are the exceptions, however. The overwhelming majority of people who come into the network fall by the wayside. MLM uses the method of giving the idea that any one can be a good salesperson. “You need not have a degree or experience, anyone can do this” Well you find out the fundamental falsehood of this after you drop off. At that time you might have probably spent more than $1000. Loosing money is not the end of the problem, by this time you have probably involved your friends and relatives. They have also lost their money, so be prepared to face an angry lot.

Everybody cannot be a good salesperson. MLM companies know this. Most people will never be good enough at selling, let alone take home a six-figure income. To be a good salesperson, you need qualities that you simply cannot get from a tape or a seminar telling you how to connect with people and ability to handle rejection. Most of all you have to enjoy selling. Most people don’t. It is harder than your dissatisfied job with an employer.

Few people actually turn out to be good salespeople. They wind up selling a significant amount of the company’s first product line. What ever the product that’s good for the company is good for them too, particularly those who got in early and stayed with the program. But their success comes at the expense of the other people, who waste their time and money pursuing a goal they can never reach. I find this disgusting.

Anyone who can make millions in MLM can do the same in another type of business, one that doesn’t require you to take advantage of other people. Selling is not this bad and destructive. Good salespeople provide a service to their customers, and not eat them out. They generate the revenues that pay other people’s wages.

A good salesperson can start his or her own business and they don’t need multilevel marketing to get rich.

Cost Effective Advertising

Advertising is the link between the supplier and the consumer, communication and information, the medium and the message, but how do we make it more cost effective.

Cost effective methods of advertising is very important because you will have to add the cost of advertising to your product. Your aim should be to sell the product with minimum price margins while covering all other costs you have incurred.

How do you do this?
Analyze the benefit of your product. Who has the need for your product? Discover your potential customers and Isolate particular features of your product to pin point for your customer’s benefit when you advertise. Target your market.

Concentrate on where the most people of your segment can be reached. If you want to sell women’s clothing, it will not do in daily paper very well. Just research a women’s magazine or news paper, and even from those, find out where your particular fashion or product would be most appropriate. And also research the popularity of the magazine. Most women buy women’s weekly, placing your add in that will be very much effective than placing it in a newspaper or Fashion magazine with very few readers. It is same as placing your advertisement on internet. You have to find the specific niche and even from that specific niche, the most suitable one. For women’s clothing, you have to find a niche for Fashion or clothing, according to your customer view point, and then find a particular interesting site where women would be most likely to read.

Some times the circulation of the paper or magazine of your choice will be more than half compared to other papers or magazines, but half of the readers may only buy it for the pictures, a quarter for the sport and the rest will buy mainly for the crossword. So don’t be deceived by massive circulation. Do a research first. Call the advertisers and inquire how many responses they got. If you can do a free survey for the readers of the paper or magazine, you can clearly decide weather it is worth advertising on it.

I have seen that most people tend at least to get one or two responses from a simple newspaper than advertising on the Internet. But you should not miss the web, you will be successful according to your advertising campaign and search engine ranking. Do not waste your money on banner ads. People get irritated by them and you will never get a response.

Make your ad very simple so that readers can clearly identify the product. Newspapers and magazines – will probably take most of your budget. Your aim should be to reach the bulk of your audience. You can find community magazines to advertise your business, probably if it is a niche for your target audience. Otherwise it will be waste of money. Probably garage sales and specific services in the area can get a good response through community newspaper and your local news board.

A way of advertising without expenditure in the web is placing your clothing or what ever product pictures in a free blog. Make it attractive. Find sites with lot of traffic. Submit your blog there. If you are very creative and have a target in your mind, you can lure people to your website. Make a good story or yarn that will tell something interesting related to that product. It is vise not to try marketing guru method of story telling. You must be very creative to attract a reader to your blog.

If you are doing a service business, place your blog in a community site that attracts lot of traffic from your area or country. Make it interesting with stories related to your business, so that people will continue coming to your website. You might get some recommendations from your readers even if they are not in need of your service; they will direct people who are searching for a service.

Placing your ad in Yellow pages is very effective for some service type business. This way you can get exposure throughout the year. In all cases you should try to minimize your costs and maximize your profit. You should be able to cover the cost of your advertisement by your sales.

You can advertise using direct letters, E-mails and leaflets. You have to be very careful of the way you describe your business using this method. Use minimum words with most important details that would interest your recipient. They will probably do a short scan and throw it away, so it is very important that your description is eye-catching. Why not offer a free item if they buy your product. Ex: Pizza leaflets. I love to have them; they contain mouth watering pictures and clear descriptions. When you take the leaflet to them, they will offer a pizza to you for a low prize. And with that, they will give you another leaflet so that you keep going to them often. You feel like, I must not miss this chance of reduced prize. And even more, they offer you amazing low prices if you order during an off-peak hour. That is one of the most effective way of advertising I have seen. You can try this in your website and offline promotions, so that customers keep coming to you again and again. But your service should be really good and on time. Otherwise customers will not come to you again. In a website if you have software that automatically process sales orders and letters with minimum human participation, you can prevent many errors.

Other options: Press release, Exhibitions, displaying your ad in your own vehicle. Giveaways like calendars with your business and web address and many more methods according to your imagination.
No matter how you advertise, your ad should be eye-catching. You need to think how people’s instincts work.

  • Many people read the head line only. Ads with a headline that promise a benefit will have a more chance of being read by four times as many people.
  • The reader’s eye follows form illustration to headline to copy, so lay out your ad in that order.
  • Photographs are more believable than drawings, and the bigger the illustration the more the ad is likely to be noticed.
  • Putting in the price is very important.
  • Putting large chunks of capitals discourage readers.
  • Color is more important than size.
  • Only 5 percent of your readers may actually read your ad.

This is the fact. So you must be very careful before you spend on an advertisement. The main force of your sales effort will probably be through advertising. Advertising will not shift a bad product more than once or create a new market. It must be backed up by sales literature, order forms, a sales force, stocks, distributors and a strategy.

Improve your sales by link building-2

This is the second part of the article describing how you should use your links.

Look at media sites and start your campaign there.

Lot of people visit media sites looking for information – get coverage and link to your site. You will get good traffic to your site plus a percentage of that audience linking to your site because the media site did. This is what I say, (links attract links).

Now you have identified your market sector and a list of 100 link targets, Start with the high profile portals. Go to them and see if they have a ‘submit an article’ page. If they do make sure you use it. It is an easy and valuable way to get coverage and links to your site. Look for reporter bylines and look for contact details. Many sites will publish guidelines on how to submit a release. Remember you should write articles in the specific product range that you are planning to sell.

Issue an online press release.

Media site is almost one to one approach where personal contact is essential. You can have one-to-many approaches by issuing an online press release. This way you submit your release to a newswire and they distribute your news to thousands of journalists and editors on their database. Include your signature as a link to your site.

This is a very powerful method of getting traffic to your site if you can write a really good article. People will be interested in the person who wrote this article. Curiosity will make them click the link and come to your site. Signature should include your name and description including your company name.

Using non media sites

Huge percentage of your links is covered by media sites. These methods are for the left over target links. Non media sites will only link to you if you have been mentioned by an editorial site they respect. Many of these sites may give you one way links, while others will ask for a link back. It makes sense to agree if you are asking the top sites, because links from them is very important to you. Include them in your content, write a short article about them, even recommend them if you have something useful to offer your visitors.

Monitor and evaluate.

Monitoring and evaluating is not simply a matter of counting how many links you manage to get. What is really worth measuring is the benefit those links bring to your business.

At least you should measure:
How much increased traffic comes from links?
Which link brings most traffic?
How much your search engine rank (search engine traffic)
How much your sales increase as a result.

Try this method and analyze your results. Then try other sites that you categorized as less priority. And you can check submitting articles on freelancing sites that is less important. You might get a click here or there that is worth a try.

Offer a free e-book.

Write an e-book on specific product ranges, usefulness and anything that can be related to the product. Include your links on them. Include not only your links but links to other sites as well. You can offer this e-book free to your readers on condition that they use the book only on free distribution and no change in links. Especially ask your other site owners which you have included links in your book, weather they would like to distribute the book as well. They will agree if there are link to them as well. This is also a very effective method. But you really must write the book on specific product range and focusing on specific target audience who will be willing to download the e-book and read reviews on products before they buy. This method is particularly easy to approach other site owners because they too will benefit from your book.

How to attract clients by speech

I have been writing about networking and link building a lot. This time I am writing a different kind of business article about how to attract a client by art of speech.

When you go to a business meeting, the first time you enter there you might feel a bit nervous. This might be a big opportunity to build a relationship and a secure future. You might be meeting business contacts everyday. and through telephone, you might be doing this every day, but can you do it better? What are the tricks to preparing for them, starting them and keeping them going?

Smile first
It is important how long you hold it. When you meet someone have a smile on your face and make sure the other person understands that it is for him or her. Do not let the smile disappear as soon as you start speaking with the person. Let it linger for a while and with the topic, leave the smile where it is.

Eye contact
Eye contact is very important. First thing is look in the eyes. There are two main options in eye contact.

Wandering eyes: If your eyes around the room when you are engaged in conversation, it will appear rude. It is appropriate only if you are being harassed by the other party and you want to disengage from the discussion.
Sticky eyes: This is where you maintain constant eye contact with the person and resist the urge to look away. If you do have to book away, then break the contact reluctantly and deliberately. This will give a sense of importance to the other party.

Stop fidgeting
When you are meeting someone for the first time, do not start rubbing and scratching. Keep your hands together and interlock your fingers so they don’t start to play with jewelry or anything else. The less you fidget the more confident you look and you generate more respect and authority.

Be well presented
You have to be decently dressed and well presented according to the place or person you are meeting. Do not wear things that will draw unnecessary attention to your self and scare off everyone in the room.

Likely questions to be asked

Where are you from?” this is a very likely to be asked question. Prepare an answer. You can either state a one word response that accurately describe your locale and hope the conversation moves on, or you can add an interesting comment that might sustain the conversation. Always try to sustain conversation.

“What do I do?” we know that some one will ask this question, and we are also bound to ask the same question from the other person. Be prepared for this. Give your answer some thought. Do not overdo the description. Remember that you are not trying to make your job more than it is; we are trying to find something interesting about it.

What do you do?” now it is your time to ask the question. This sometimes will cause a difficulty for the other person, especially if they feel their job is not interesting or if they are between jobs. You should always ask a question, “How do you spend most of your time?” This will take a lot of risk out of the answer and allow the other person more flexibility with their response.

Keeps the conversation going

People are always interested in themselves, so if you want to be good at conversation, you need to know how to get them talk about themselves.

When the other person is talking or answering another question, be on the alert for their words of interest. This is a great clue as to what they are really interested in. for example if you were to state, “We had awful weather over the weekend” and the other person replied “ Yes, it was so bad I had to cancel my regular bicycle ride”, you should now start asking questions about their bicycle ride. Always be listening for ‘word pick’.

If you are struggling in a conversation, repeat the last words that the other person has spoken. If someone says to you “Last weak end I went to see a game of cricket”, then you should say “Cricket?” then the words will come to your mind to say some thing about cricket. This way you can keep people engrossed in their own topics. But do not parrot everything.

The best method to maintain a conversation is the use of questions. It is important to ask the right questions. There are two types of questions.
Open questions, where there is a space for a sentence to begin.
Closed questions, where you end with a short yes, or no answer.
Use open questions to keep the conversation going. And use closed question to verify facts and major points.

Before starting your link building strategy, there is a lot of background work to be done and there are several methods you can use to be successful in this strategy. This method takes time to reap fruit. The reality is that many people are disappointed with the small amount of traffic that their efforts produce.

Assess your linking strategy

Step back a bit and re-assess your linking strategy. Are you really giving enough thought to your strategy? First of all you have to understand that link building is not about CEO, boosting your Google Page rank or publishing a link directory and it is not about swapping links with as many other websites as possible.

What should be done for a maximum return?

Link building is about establishing your competitive position in the online marketplace that already exists, around your industry sector. Your potential customers usually research through search engines. They scan directories, articles, engage in discussion groups, will read product reviews and evaluate competitors. The sites your online customers hang around should be your place. These are the target sites for your link building strategy.If you are in the software market, you should go to software portals. If it is accounting software you want to promote, then you should go further inside the niche to Accounting software.Do not go to every niche. Look for about three or six significant niches.
